Vegas is like a distillation of all the shittier, sleazier & weirder places of the san fernando valley, put in a giant petri dish and placed out in the desert, left to its own devices. the closest 24 hour town from L.A. this is where the porn industry and their money will move if Measure B passes next month. Old downtown is a great combination of new tacky wet dream plastic filth and pure desert lone ranger weirdness which i haven’t noticed since being in Albuquerque a few years back. hmm, make that 7 or 8 years back. but who’s counting? Tweak Bird is great! Kevin calls them superheroes and i couldn’t agree more. I wish i had heard or seen them earlier. HepaTitus was lucky to be part of the Melvins’ record breaking 51 shows in 51 states in 51 days rock tour. Vegas was Crover’s birthday show and after our set a transvestite glass eater came on stage and lit the candles on his cake by breathing fire. pretty neat-o! i ate too many pieces of the cake pictured below.
Listen here. to the 2010 release Dead Head, who’s album cover(Andy Crane) I thought would get at least 1 mention in a review but alas, no one was paying attention. 2nd notch in the catalog for my bandcamp experiment.
Another lost masterpiece!
I’ve joined 2 more networks in an attempt to spread the word that I will probably never stop making music until my hands fall off.
On the Bandcamp page I will be digitally uploading one album/EP/single/cassette/CD-R per week in reverse chronology until I get back to the 1st album from 2003/4. As I write this, i am not sure if that’s 9,10, or 12 releases.
Here is the new offal band twooter page:
